Colorado Springs Zoo

This is is like no other. It is built up the side of the moutain. Everywhere you walk is either up or down. It's awesome. We had such a fabulous day! The weather was wonderful, in the 80's. The 80's are WAY more refreshing than the 110 back home.

I must forwarn you, there are A LOT of pictures.

I realize that unless you're Ruthie Jane's grandparents you will just skim through them all.

The Preacher Man and Ruthie-girl checkin' out the wildlife.

These little crazy chipmunks were EVERYWHERE. Seriously, all they wanted was food. I just about panicked when this little guy was so close to RJ's foot. The Preacher Man helped me hold it together. It's just something about wild animals, large or small, that aren't afraid of approaching humans. Scares me.

Ah, the Carousel. Ruthie Jane had oodles of fun!

This sweet zoo-lady took special interest in Ruthie Jane. She let her pet the turtle....

This was definately a highlight of the zoo trip!

She was so serious about riding this pony.
She had such a great time!

People like the Preacher Man are why they hang around so much.
He gave this one a Cheeto while we had lunch.

To me, the coolest thing about the zoo!
They had a ski lift type sky ride that went up the moutain over the zoo!
