It's the little things...

We serve an amazing Lord.
Who has sent us to an amazing "little" city.
Who has placed wonderful people in our paths.

As we came home this last weekend, tired, I realized it's the little things. We had a busy week. The hubby hadn't been feeling well. We left for a weekend of family and fun. And, upon our arrival home our yard had been mowed.

Now, we could have looked at this kind gesture two ways: One being, "Ugh, did they think our yard was THAT tall? That is insulting." or we could have said, "Wow, what a wonderful church family we have. They care so much for us."

And, my friends...we went with option Numero dos. Someone thought enough of us to mow our yard. Some sweet friend, neighbor, fellow Christian. I must say it was very encouraging. It's been hard moving away. Having driving distance between myself and my mom, that has never been there before. Living too far away from old friends to call up and have dinner. Not being able to see my Nana when she doesn't feel well. And, knowing that Ruthie Jane doesn't get to see either set of grandparents on a weekly basis.

But knowing, that the place where the Lord has called us loves us, thinks about us, and cares enough to take action, blesses me.

Find something "little" to do for someone this week. Because it holds a big reward.

  1. I am so with you, Amber! There's mixed emotions in moving, huh? Happiness and excitement knowing you're where God wants you. But also sadness because of all you've left behind. I'm so glad God has surrounded you and your family with wonderful people.
