Conversing with a two-year old.

A few days ago as I was cleaning house Ruthie Jane walked by with a telephone to her ear...

RJ: (giggles) Nuffin. What'er you doin?
Me: Ruthie Jane...who are you talking to?
RJ: (pause) Ummm...Boyfriend!
Me: Oh really...(very intrigued by this point)
Who is he? What is his name?
RJ: (sly grin) DEUCIE BOY!

I just about died.
------------------------------------------------------
Since Christmas it seems that Ruthie has gotten a gift every day. Maybe not every day. But Christmas, then her Birthday, and then Valentines Day.

When Kenny walked in with her basket of Valentine goodies she squealed with delight...
She clapped her hands, jumped up and down, and decalred " MY BIRTHDAY EVERY DAY!"

Oh. brother.

-------------------------------------------------------

Ruthie: "Night-night, Hollywood?"
Me: (gasp!)
Ruthie: (giggles) Holly, night-night!

Yes, folks she did it again. She gave her beloved night-night to the dog. It seriously looked like this in minutes. If we could just get Ruthie to understand once you give it to the dog you won't get it back...

---------------------------------------

Me: Ruthie Jane are you a boy or a girl?
Ruthie: Girl
Me: Very good!
Is Mommy a girl or a boy?
Ruthie: Girl!
Me: You are so smart! That's right! Very good!
Now, is Daddy a boy or a girl?
Ruthie: Girl!
Me: Oh boy, back to square one.... :)
